Clean: balance converted to EMI with full cost disclosure, promise tied to the salary date
A conversion call done properly. The officer found the cause in one question — a one-off wedding spend, not a structural problem — and then explained the thing the cardholder genuinely did not know: that paying the minimum leaves the balance compounding at 3.5% a month and that new spends lose the interest-free period entirely. The conversion was quoted in full, including the processing fee with GST, the total interest, the limit that gets blocked, the treatment of new spends and the foreclosure charge, and a second tenure was offered with its cost stated honestly rather than as an upsell. When the cardholder asked whether the late fee could be skipped, she said she could not waive it and would not pretend otherwise. The promise was tied to his salary date with three days of margin against the statement cut-off, and the credit-record answer was accurate in both directions.
“Total amount due Rs 1,42,600 · minimum amount due Rs 7,130 · finance charge 3.5% per month (42% p.a.) on the revolving balance · late fee Rs 1,300 + GST Rs 234 · EMI conversion: Rs 1,42,600 over 12 months at 16% p.a., EMI Rs 12,940, processing fee Rs 599 + GST Rs 108 · promise to pay: Rs 7,130 on 25 September, conversion effective from the October statement”
